Licorice More Herbal Classes
In 2010 we will be offering additional herbal classes for those who want to continue to explore the world of plant medicine.

An Alphabet of Herbs!
Four Thursdays, October 7th-28th, 6:45pm-9pm
 - with Missy Rohs
In this four-class program, each evening will be devoted to six different herbs, botanically working our way from A through Z. Detailed Materia Medica sheets on each plant will be provided, describing the medicinal uses as well as the magical aspects of plants. We'll explore each herb through taste, touch, and smell. Both old local faves and obscure medicinals from outside of our ecosystem will be featured, making this class fun for intermediate herbalists and new herb enthusiasts alike. A wonderful way to get to know our green friends better!
Class will be held in SE Portland.
Cost: $105 for the series; $90 if paid by Sept. 23rd. Registration required - email missy@arctosschool.org.
'The pace and scope of the teaching met my needs perfectly. Most importantly, I was given skills that will carry me through a lifetime of herbal education.'
- Kelly, 2007 program
Gardening for Medicine
Saturdays, 10am-4pm One weekend
each month, May through October
 - with Gradey Proctor

In this series, we'll spend our days learning in an established herb garden throughout the season. Mornings, we'll be outdoors, tending the plants and learning when and how to harvest them for medicine. Afternoons will be devoted to in-depth discussion of medicinal uses, tastings of plants, and basic herbal preparations. Students will harvest an abundance of sustainably-grown herbs to take home for personal use, CSA-style.

Instructor's Home, SE Portland.
The Gardening for Medicine program is $450, includes 6 classes, monthly herbal harvest, and most materials. Class size is limited to 6.

'Arctos's combination of field trips and in-class lecture and medicine-making strikes a perfect balance.... [The Apprenticeship Program] provides a great foundation to continue learning on my own and trusting myself to do so.'
