Announcing the 2027 Arctos Home Herbalist Series!

Are you interested in making your own herbal remedies? Do you want to know how to use plant medicine responsibly and effectively? Have you been curious about the domain of the kitchen witch? Our Home Herbalist Series is for you! This participatory, fun program meets once per month for nine months, March 27 - November 20. Class is held in the kitchen, classroom, and garden on Saturdays, with optional urban plant walks offered through the year.

In this sweet 60-hour course, we’ll explore herbalism for everyday use:
ENGAGING with our health and our natural surroundings;
UNDERSTANDING how to create effective herbal remedies;
EMPOWERMENT through getting to know common weeds, kitchen remedies, and other accessible healing herbs;
& EXPERIENCE with hands-on medicine making and using medicinal plants.

The Home Herbalist Series is an offering for those who want to interact with plants in real life while participating in a community of learners. The skills we’ll gain are fundamental to using herbal remedies in a safe, effective, creative way. The connections we build within the class can be foundations for community and friendship for years to come.

The HHS is for creatives, cooks, caretakers, punks, gardeners, wonderers, and other community-oriented people who are curious to integrate medicinal plants into their life in a solid, useful fashion. We’ll focus on the pragmatic and accessible while leaving the door open for marvel, magic, and awe.
