The season started slow, but the fungi finally are up and fruiting! This outing should land us between the mushroom seasons -- catching the end of Chanterelles as well as starting to see winter mushrooms like Hedgehogs. On our journey we will cover the ecology of fungus, learn off-trail navigation tips, and tips for locating the right situation for a successful hunt. We'll cover identification traits of some major groups of mushrooms, from food to poison. If all goes well, we’ll discover some edible and medicinal delights to bring home!
All are welcome in this off-trail adventure. This class will happen rain or shine. Cost is $60, sliding scale available. Registration required by October 27th.
