Join us for this two-part class on the basics of botany. On Thursday, Gradey will take us on a tour of the terms and tools one needs to properly identify plants in the Northwest. We will talk about the parts of the flower, leaf structure, and arrangement, review a few plant books and how to use them, and so much more in this hands-on approach to learning about the plants. Then on Friday we will put our new knowledge to work as we head up to Mt Hood to meet the flora of the Northwest, talking herbalism, ecology, plant ID, wild foods, and more along the way.

This in-depth botanical training is a fundraiser to bolster the community resource library at Bark. We are offering this two-part class for a $40-$100 donation to support the kick-ass work that Bark does in the Mt. Hood National Forest. All proceeds will go towards Bark’s community resource library. Not only will this be a great way to get practical tools to connect with the natural world, it's a great opportunity to contribute to the work of Arctos's favorite organization.

Thursday's class will be held at the Bark office (351 NE 18th Ave.). Friday's carpool will leave from Portland. Cost is $40 - $100, sliding scale.
