This outing with mycology geek Gradey is timed to land us between the mushroom seasons -- catching the end of chanterelles as well as the beginning of winter mushrooms like hedgehogs. On our journey, we will cover the ecology of fungus, learn off-trail navigation tips, and talk about ideas for locating the right situation for a successful hunt. Identification traits of some major groups of mushrooms, from food to poison, will be covered. With some luck from the weather, we’ll discover some edible and medicinal delights to bring home!
