Join Gradey for a hands-on class exploring the underground world of the plant, the root. As colder weather approaches, perennial plants send their energy deep into the ground. This creates an opportunity for us to dig and divide plants — either to grow more plants, to make plant medicine, or both! We will explore at least five different medicinal plants, going through their uses as herbal remedies, the botany of their underground structures, proper ways to dig them up, and how to work with their roots so that our plants continue to thrive. Participants will leaves with plenty of root medicine to continue to learn from as well, whether they choose to plant them in their own gardens or to make them into potent herbal preparations.
Class will be held on the Medicine Garden farm in Oregon City. Class size is limited for this in-person, outdoor class.
Cost is $80-$60, sliding scale, abundant plant materials included. Registration required by October 14.
