Learn important harvesting techniques and bring fresh medicine home! Gradey will start out by covering the fundamentals of pruning — how to properly take cuts, when, where and how it will affect the plant’s growth — all the basics you need to keep your woody plants thriving! After starting with the plants’ health in mind, we will explore using removed branches as medicine. Whether you are working in the garden or working with wild plants, the basic principles are the same. In this class we will discuss and work with cherry, crampbark, and willow.
Class will be held at Gradey’s Medicine Garden Farm in Oregon City. Carpools will be arranged from Portland. Class cost is $60, sliding scale available. Price includes material students will take home to make medicine with! Registration is required by January 13th.
