In this pay-what-you-can plant walk, Gradey will lead you on a wander through the forest and riverside to learn the early spring plants. Since flowers are key to properly identifying plants for food or medicine, this is where we will spend most of our conversation. We will also go into ecology, food, and medicinal uses of the plants we encounter.
We’ll meet at Mary S. Young Park in West Linn in front of the main restrooms. (Go past the first parking lot on your left for another 100 yards, where the road ends at a loop-shaped parking lot. The dog park will be on one side of the parking lot and on the other side, tucked in the forest, you will find Gradey near the restrooms.) Hike will be approximately 2 miles, and will be held rain or shine. Dress for the weather and bring what you need for a leisurely stroll.
Class cost is $0-$40, no one turned away for lack of funds. Please bring cash for this sliding scale offering!
No registration required.
