Join Gradey for a hands-on class exploring the underground world of the plant, the root. As colder weather approaches, perennial plants send their energy deep into the ground. This creates an opportunity for us to dig and divide plants — either to grow more plants, to make plant medicine, or both! We will explore at least five different medicinal plants, going through their uses as herbal remedies, the botany of their underground structures, proper ways to dig them up, and how to work with their roots so that our plants continue to thrive. Participants will leaves with plenty of root medicine to continue to learn from as well, whether they choose to plant them in their own gardens or to make them into potent herbal preparations.
Class location TBD in the Portland metro area. Cost is $50-$75, sliding scale. Class size is limited and covid safety protocols will be in place for this in-person, outdoor class. Registration required by October 24.
