Medicinal Weeds of the Garden - Online Class

  • The Arctos School of Herbal and Botanical Studies Portland, OR (map)

Wait, wait don’t just compost those “weeds”! Many of the plants that pop up uninvited have food and medicinal uses. In fact, lots of our common garden weeds were intentionally brought to this land to be used for healing or nutrition. In this class, Gradey will explore some of the most prolific garden weeds, and we’ll learn to identify them, harvest them at the right time, and to keep them around in the garden without letting them take over — the easiest kind of medicine! If your space is lacking some of these useful plants, we can talk about ways of introducing them, too.

This class will utilize the Zoom platform. To prepare, you can download the free Zoom app. If you’re new to Zoom, you may want to check out their support and training resources beforehand in order to ensure a smooth experience.

Class cost is $20-$30, sliding scale. Half of all proceeds will go directly to the Portland Fruit Tree Project, a group that works to increase equitable access to healthful food and strengthen communities! Start time is 2pm Pacific time. To receive the link to the class, participants must register before 10am Pacific time.
