Pruning for Plants and Medicine

  • The Arctos School of Herbal and Botanical Studies Portland, OR (map)

In this in-person workshop, Gradey will run through the basics of winter pruning for the health of our plants AND the health of our community. After we get some pruning basics down, participants will have the opportunity to get some hands-on practice! We will also explore how to then make medicine with the branches we have pruned away from our plant and how to take cuttings to propagate more live plants. We will be working with eleuthero (formerly known as siberian ginseng), crampbark, and willow.

We will wrap things up with a tincture-making demo so that students gain the skills to make medicine with abundant medicinal plants that they take home!

Class will be held in SE Portland. Class cost is $50 - $70, sliding scale. Participants will leave with a tincture and bark for medicine making.

To keep things community-based and covid-safe, class size is limited. Registration is required by January 24th.
